Primera película animada de Dragon Ball. Viene a ser un resumen de los primeros capítulos de la serie, pese a incorporar algunos cambios. Cuenta la leyenda que hay siete esferas de dragón desparramadas por toda la Tierra. Aquél que logre juntarlas podrá invocar al dragón Shen-Ron que es capaz de cumplir cualquier deseo. Acompaña a Goku, Bulma, Oolong, Yamcha y Puar en esta fantástica aventura mientras enfrentan al ambicioso Rey Gourmeth quien tiene oprimido a su pueblo. Esta película es la base que utilizaron en 1989 para hacer "Dragon Ball: Comienza la magia".
